This Privacy Policy describes how Georgian Keyboard + ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Georgian Keyboard + application ("App").
Information We Collect
Information Stored Locally on Your Device
User Dictionary Data
When you use word suggestions, the App stores words you select in a local database on your device. This includes:
- Words you've typed and selected from suggestions
- Frequency of word usage
- Timestamps of when words were added or last used
This data is used solely to improve suggestion accuracy and is never transmitted off your device.
App Settings
We store your preferences locally, including:
- Keyboard layout preference (Standard, Full Alphabet, or Ergonomic)
- Haptic feedback preference
- Sound feedback preference
- Onboarding completion status
Recent Words
A list of recently selected suggestions (up to 50 words) is stored locally to improve suggestion ranking.
Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your keystrokes to any server
- We do not record your conversations or text input
- We do not create user accounts or profiles
- We do not use analytics or crash reporting services
- We do not collect personal identifiable information
Keyboard Extension and Full Access
Our keyboard extension requests "Full Access" permission from iOS. This permission is used for:
- Haptic Feedback: To provide tactile feedback when you tap keys
- Sound Feedback: To play keyboard click sounds (optional)
- Text Context: To read the text immediately before and after your cursor for generating relevant word suggestions
Important: Even with Full Access enabled, all text processing occurs entirely on your device. We do not transmit any typed content to external servers.
Advertising
The main App (not the keyboard extension) displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect and use data to serve personalized ads according to their privacy policy. This includes:
- Device identifiers for ad delivery
- Ad interaction data
- General location (country/region level)
Google's use of advertising data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
You can opt out of personalized advertising through your iOS Settings:
Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Personalized Ads
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. The only external data sharing occurs through:
- Google AdMob: For serving advertisements in the main App (standard ad serving, not keystroke data)
- Apple App Store: Standard app functionality and reviews
Data Storage and Security
All user data (word dictionary, settings, preferences) is stored locally on your device using:
- iOS App Groups for secure data sharing between the main App and keyboard extension
- SQLite databases for word storage
- iOS UserDefaults for settings
This data remains on your device and is protected by iOS security measures.
Data Retention
- User Dictionary: Stored until you uninstall the App
- Settings: Stored until you uninstall the App
- Typed Text: Never stored; only temporarily held in memory during active typing sessions
Children's Privacy
Our App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App contains advertisements that comply with Apple's App Store guidelines.
Your Rights
You can:
- Disable Full Access for the keyboard at any time in iOS Settings
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
- Opt out of personalized ads through iOS Settings
